Public Health Minor
Program Description
The Public Health minor provides students with an academic foundation in the multidisciplinary field leading to positions as health educators, health care navigators and related careers, In addition, a concentration in public health will of interest to students in environmental science, nursing, social science, and preprofessional health programs. Required courses provide a strong foundation in the multidisciplinary foundations of public health including epidemiology, environmental, social and behavioral risk factors and community intervention. Additionally, students will develop an appreciation of the organization of health care systems--both in the United States and internationally as well as governmental policies impacting population-level health. Elective courses permit students to explore these and other public health related topics in greater depth.
