Mathematics Education (MEDU)
This course focuses on lesson plan development and mathematics instruction through the lens of appropriate technologies. Physical and virtual manipulatives will be accessed and assessed for different types of mathematical activities and varying types of learners, as well as used for documenting student progress. Fieldwork is required.
This course focuses on the instructional methods of mathematics teaching, including implementation of both MDE and NCTM mathematics standards, lesson planning, and differentiating instruction in the 5-9 and/or 7-12 grade bands. Additionally, there are discussions and reflections on research based instruction, curriculum, and teacher content and pedagogical knowledge. Fieldwork required.
