Sociology Minor
Program Description
The sociology minor introduces students to the ways in which social institutions, such as the family, government, religion, education, mass media, and the justice system inform both individual and social actions. Students will learn to employ various theoretical frameworks and research methodologies to critically examine current social problems, the structure of social institutions, inequality and the role of power in society. Special emphasis is placed on developing skills and knowledge that enable students to critically reflect on prevailing social relations in everyday life.
