Program Description

The Social Emotional Learning Certificate program connects the theory of the Social Emotional Learning competencies to classroom practice. Participants will learn about the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and sociocultural factors on learners’ academic achievement and behaviors as well as practical strategies for addressing learner and educator needs. Participants will develop inclusive, comprehensive plans to be implemented in their classrooms.

Program Learning Outcomes

• Candidates apply the Social Emotional Learning competencies (Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Self-Management, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making) in the development of comprehensive plans based on research and best practices to a target age group.
