Indigenous Literatures and Cultures Certificate
Program Description
The Indigenous Literatures and Cultures Certificate provides students the opportunity to examine and advance understanding of contemporary and past Indigenous experiences to recognize and develop an awareness of the diversity of Indigenous perspectives.
- Develop an understanding of the diversity of Indigenous perspectives.
- Foster dialogue between students of any cultural background in consideration of Indigenous perspectives and issues.
- Build awareness of LSSU's interconnectedness with local Indigenous cultures and the region.
- Recognize stereotypes about Native American peoples and explain why these stereotypes were created and ways in which they persist in modern society.
